Cool & Fancy Gala
Each year, Up Your Arts hosts A Cool & Fancy Gala. This event is more than just an opportunity to dress up in fancy clothes and dance the day away! Each year we showcase an Up Your Arts program that promotes and enhances visual and creative arts in the greater Southport area.
Cool (slang): intensely good
Fancy: elaborate in structure or decoration
Gala: a social occasion with special entertainments
The Up Your Arts Cool & Fancy Gala is an evening of celebration, bringing together community and local arts in a fun-filled event. With musical performances by awesome local talents, delicious food and drink from local restaurants plus amazing auction packages—there's something for everyone at this annual event!
We hope you'll come dressed in your most cool and fancy outfit, ready to have fun and celebrate the arts!
The gala gives us an opportunity to recognize and honor the artists, musicians and other creatives who make our community so unique. Proceeds from the gala go to support our mission to promote and enhance creative and performing arts in the greater Southport area.

Up Your Arts invites you to celebrate the winners of the ‘Raise Up Your Arts’ pole banner project, a public celebration of local artists on the streets of downtown Southport. Proceeds support our mission to promote and enhance creative and performing arts in the greater Southport area.
1st Annual Cool & Fancy Gala

The “Southport, Open Your Doors” project concluded with a cool and fancy gala that brought the community together to celebrate a great cause. The eleven historic doors that were transformed by local artists and displayed around Southport were auctioned at our gala event.
