Tickets for Up Your Arts’ March 27 benefit gala featuring the doors at the heart of their year-long project, “Southport, Open Your Doors!” are on sale now. The Doors Final Reunion Tour will be the last time these vividly imagined artworks will be seen in public, after having been on parade in various locations throughout the Southport area since October.
Created by local artists, the eleven doors will be auctioned during the gala to support UYA projects, including the campaign to create a community-based art center in downtown Southport. Payment for architectural services to design the renovation of the Old Brunswick County Courthouse and former city hall building on Moore Street is the next step in their “Save the Hall, Y’all” campaign
The event features live entertainment by the award-winning CatS Band, hors d’oeuvres and desserts by Middle of the Island caterers, an open beer and wine bar with Mr. Bartender, and a live auction of the doors with Ray Wycoff. A silent auction featuring arts-related and area-centric delights promises no one will go home empty-handed.
The gala will be held from 4-7 pm on March 27 at the Lord Street campus of Brunswick Community College. Early Bird tickets are $100 per person through March 5; full-price tickets are $150 from March 6-20.
Tickets can be purchased on line at https://www.eventbrite. com/e/opendoors-final-reunion-tour-galatickets-262772037237. Paper tickets can be purchased using cash or check at the following locations in downtown Southport: Ricky Evans Gallery, Franklin Square Gallery, the Artisans Gallery on Howe, Uncorked by the Sea, and the Wine Rack.
