The N.C. 4th of July Festival Arts and Crafts show began humbly as a street fair in an area beside what was then Leggett’s (now Ocean Outfitters) on East Moore Street. After growing and a couple of location changes, the Arts and Crafts found its home in Franklin Square Park. Franklin Square Park, located beside the Southport Baptist Church and at the corner of N. Howe and E. West Streets.

In 2021, the Festival Arts and Craft Market will be moved to Oak Island’s Middleton Park Pavilion Area ( 4610 E. Dolphin Drive) and held from 10:00am – 5:00pm on Saturday, July 3rd and Sunday, July 4th. There will be many fine hand-made items by artists and crafters, we also have unique specialty items located in the park.
